It’s a dog’s dog’s dog’s dog’s world…

Lucy and Gus

Lucy & Co. is a purveyor of boutique accessories for discerning dogs and their humans.

As they proclaim in their vision statement, Lucy & Co. was built on the idea that dogs are deserving. Dogs deserve beautiful designs. Dogs deserve thoughtful materials and technical touches. We couldn’t agree more.

For their new corporate offices Lucy & Company brought in RoehrSchmitt to help create a space that honors and celebrates their furry friends, with some accommodation made for people as well.

More than just an office, the space is organized as a Venn diagram of people space and dog space, with the latter getting the larger half of the bone. The main entry brings one through a spacious canine romper room that is intended to function like a dog park, encouraging dogs to visit and providing plenty of opportunities to mingle with their people and get to know each other, with finishes bright, tough, and easy to clean.

While still dog-friendly, the main offices are tucked further back into the space and are decidedly more human-oriented. Bridging the offices and dog-park entry space is a kitchenette and lounge that serves both employees and guests - and dogs - featuring bench seating and banquettes against a backdrop of dog-themed wallpaper. Coming to the project with a strong vision for the space, the integral involvement of the corporate team in creating the space ensured that the design team never found itself barking up the wrong tree.
